Room With a View

The weather patterns in Basel are consistently inconsistent. There’s something about the mountains that creates weird weather. It can be sunny, then a 20-minute storm rolls in, sunny again, and then another storm. High pressure systems fight it out hourly with low pressure systems. Gray clouds sit over the city while a few thousand feet up in the Alps the sun brings smiles to the cows.

My office window offers a nice view of all the changes.

This is your office view Ken?? Beats the heck out of Tracy’s and my view of the parking garage on Longwood. I want to move to Switerland.

Every view in Switzerland is beautiful. I’d tell you more, but it is chocolate time. It’s like tea time in England, only in Switzerland there is a government mandated three times a day chocolate time. And my chocolate delivery is now at the door (the government delivers fresh Swiss chocolate to your home or office three times a day, of course. Because the chocolate must still be warm from the mountain factories to qualify as Swiss tasty).

I saw that this afternoon soon after arriving! Crazy.

Changing hotels tomorrow…staying at the Merian now. No air con, hot, tiny frugal room, no wifi (using iPhone), over the noisy tram lines…Window wide open, waiting for the next storm to roll in.
